Getting to and around San Diego is easy

You can easily compare your travel options using Rome2rio but here are our local tips:

By plane

San Diego International Airport is located three miles northwest of downtown San Diego. Every day it's served by more than 500 non-stop flights to upwards of 70 domestic and international destinations.

By car

San Diego is a driving city. Freeway 5 is the one that goes north and south from San Ysidro to Blaine, Washington, and runs parallel to the Pacific Ocean.

Unless you're planning on staying by the conference centre, you'll find yourself becoming pretty familiar with it over the week. If you're flying in, rental cars are available at the Consolidated Rental Car Center at the airport.

By train

It's easier to get to San Diego by train than you might think - as long as you're coming from somewhere else in California. The Pacific Surfliner serves stations in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. There are daily round trips between San Diego and Los Angeles.
